Greek company ELMON presented a wide range of ballistic protection items at Eurosatory in Paris. A member of the Greek Special Forces guided us through the variants of ballistic vests and plate carriers designed for military, police and civilian use.
ELMON S.A., a Greek company, specializes in the design, development and manufacture of high-end bulletproof vests for law enforcement agencies and militaries worldwide. It works closely with other companies from around the world and uses only the most advanced materials for all its ballistic solutions. The development and design of its vests, plate carriers or helmets presented at Eurosatory 2024 are developed in direct consultation with the end user, with the basic philosophy being to meet the most demanding requirements of special forces and response units. The result will then naturally satisfy the requirements of regular armed forces, police and civilian security services.
In an interview during the fair, the company's Sales Director Ioannis Galanis told us that the company's main strength is its ability to adapt very quickly to the customer's requirements and to create a concept of the required solution in a very short time. A common element in the development of ballistic solutions is the desire to achieve maximum protection at the lowest possible weight. Among the products that the company presented in Paris were, first of all, the Plate Carrier Gen III, in several versions, whether for Greek or other police forces or for the armed forces, but also a plate carrier specifically developed for amphibious operations, as well as a range of plate carriers for civilian or VIP use.
Varied range of ballistic protection solutions
You can see the different plate carriers in the attached video. It is not only with regard to current events that solutions in the field of VIP protection are of great interest. In the first case, it is a shirt in which a soft panel of protection level 3A can be inserted, which is effective against pistol shots or knife stabs, and can be worn concealed under a shirt or a formal suit. Similarly, in cold weather, a vest that can be worn over any clothing provides a similar level of protection.
The Plate Carrier QR GEN III designed for special forces and response units is characterized by a MOLLE system that allows effective suspension of carried equipment such as magazine pouches, radios, etc. (various solutions in this regard Elmon also offers its customers, together with tactical backpacks with a capacity of 15 and 36 liters), quick release mechanism, breathability of the material. The 25x30 cm plates can be inserted in the front and back pockets and in the 15x15 cm size also on the sides.

ELMON supplies its products in more than 20 countries to more than 100 users, including mainly armed forces, police forces or security services, and plans to introduce them next spring during the IDET 2025 trade fair in Brno (28-30 May 2025).
